Standard Three 27As a recruiting/marketing tool, it is available to prospective and enrolledstudents. The catalog states our mission, values, commitment, andpolicies such as attendance and withdrawal from classes, requirementsand procedures for both degree and non-degree seeking students, anddegree completion requirements.In addition to the catalog, the quarterly class schedule also states ourmission, values, commitment, and various policies such as attendanceand withdrawal from classes. The schedule provides the prospective,new, or returning student with a view of all the classes offered at the<strong>College</strong> including <strong>Centralia</strong> <strong>College</strong> East and Tenino. In addition, itcontains information about the evening 3-year Associate of Arts Degree,sports schedules, a campus map, a telephone directory, programs ofstudy, class registration, the refund policy, cost of tuition, financial aid,and year-at-a-glance class offerings. Also included is a registration form.The quarterly schedule is approximately 60 pages in an 8 1/2 x 11 bookletformat, and is produced four times a year. It is distributed as an insert tothe county newspaper, The Chronicle, and made available to studentsand personnel on campus. It is mailed to all households and also mailedby request.Recently, the student government created a curriculum guide to assiststudents in choosing classes. It is compiled from answers faculty andstudents provide through a questionnaire and provides some basiccourse guidelines and class information including faculty-providedinformation about work-load and grading practices. The guide is notintended to be used as a substitute for consulting a college advisor.During advising and registration, a student portfolio is provided to all newdegree-seeking students which includes a registration form, careerpamphlet, and policy information including student records release,sexual harassment and discrimination complaint procedures, attendancepolicies, parking, etc. Also included is the "Guide to Success" flip-chartwhich includes information on admission, enrollment, tuition and fees,transfers, financial aid/employment, bookstore hours, student resources,college terminology, instruction calendar, campus map, and sportsschedules.
