Standard Three 54developed which provides career information and links to many careerrelatedinventories. Based on student inventory results, links are createdto <strong>Centralia</strong> <strong>College</strong> programs of study.The <strong>Student</strong> Job Center provides a connection to local employers. Theservices include part-time and full-time placement, on campusemployment, college work-study placement, and cooperative education.The center is staffed by a representative from the Employment SecurityOffice. This coalition creates an invaluable resource, bringing informationabout current trends in hiring and available positions to the <strong>College</strong>.<strong>Student</strong>s receive assistance with resume writing, interviewing skills, andjob search techniques.The <strong>College</strong> has packaged its educational offerings into six "Pathways"consistent with career guidance models in the K-12 system; thus recenthigh school graduates can select educational programs and majorsaccording to a familiar model. Pathways information is available as partof the new admissions promotional material.AnalysisExtensive efforts have been made to improve the level of career andplacement services provided to potential students. Recent changes haveincluded increased evening hours, free workshops several timesquarterly, a career class with a correspondence option, and expandedservices through the web page. Because the number of people usingthese services has not been extensive, the staff continues to discussways to make them more effective.Health CareThe <strong>College</strong> does not have a health care facility available on campus.However, wellness education and related programs are offeredthroughout the year primarily through <strong>Student</strong> Program activities.
