Standard Three 8policies that SIPC has reviewed or intends to review or initiate, all point toa growing revitalization and a renewed belief in the ability of staff toinfluence policy change and development.In addition to increased internal effectiveness, the vice-president ofstudent services has grown as an effective partner with the vicepresidentsof administration and instruction. This much-neededcollaboration has led to more mutual consultation and increased trustamong the three major areas of the <strong>College</strong>. For example, the threeareas combined support for increasing new student intake and advisingservices during summer 1998, partially contributing to the upswing inenrollment in 1998-99. During that time the <strong>College</strong> provided resourcesfor more advising fairs. In addition, instruction and student servicespartnered in sending a cross-campus team to a major conference onretention.The cooperation of the vice-presidents serves as the foundation formaking joint decisions at the vice-presidents' meetings and president'scabinet levels that benefit and support the overall college mission.<strong>Student</strong> <strong>Services</strong> Resources<strong>Student</strong> <strong>Services</strong> and its programs currently operate from three differentlocations on campus under the supervision of the vice-president ofstudent services. There are currently 55 full and part time classified,exempt, and faculty positions in support of the services and programsoffered. (See Attachment 3.3)Job descriptions for staff members clearly define the responsibilities andduties of each position and regular evaluations are completed forclassified staff in <strong>Student</strong> <strong>Services</strong> on an annual basis in accordance withstate regulations. Job descriptions have been written for their contentspecific positions and are current. Although classified staff have their jobdescriptions defined by the Higher Education Personnel Board, programsalso have content specific job descriptions that are written for their<strong>Centralia</strong> <strong>College</strong> positions. Resumes of some staff may not specificallyencompass current responsibilities; in most cases this indicates that
