Standard Three 33<strong>Student</strong>s receive report cards identifying the grades and credits awarded,and this information is also posted to their transcript and credit evaluation.<strong>Student</strong>s may use a PIN number to access their own records by printingan unofficial transcript from a computer kiosk located in the <strong>Student</strong><strong>Services</strong> Building. <strong>Student</strong>s’ official transcripts are kept in a fireproof,locked vault accessed only by Admissions and Registration personnel.When students’ official transcripts are received from other colleges and/oruniversities, they are placed into the appropriate student files kept in therecords’ vault. The <strong>College</strong> seal, used to certify official transcripts sent toother schools, is kept in a secure location in the Registration Office.Besides paper transcripts in the records’ vault, transcript information isbacked up on microfiche and copies are kept in archives.The accuracy of registration procedures is continually checked.Credential evaluators in the Registration Office evaluate transfer creditfrom other schools: the name and number of credits earned, and thecategory (general education requirements, program requirements, orelectives). The number and source of transfer credits accepted is postedto the student’s transcript upon degree completion.Quarterly degree evaluations are sent to each matriculated student withhis or her registration appointment. Any student can request a creditevaluation from the Registration Office or print a credit evaluation from acentralized, electronic touch screen located in the lobby of the <strong>Student</strong><strong>Services</strong> Building.When graduation applications are returned to the Registration Office, thecredential evaluators again do a formal credit evaluation and notify thestudent of degree requirements yet to be completed for graduation. Afinal evaluation is done upon the student’s graduation.After a degree or certificate is posted to a student’s transcript, accuracy ofcredit and degree information is again checked, as are diplomas toensure correct spelling, degree/certificate earned, and the year/quarterawarded.
