Communication ismaintained between instructors, advisors, and athletic departmentpersonnel concerning the progress of student athletes throughout eachacademic quarter. Athlete referral to academic support services is madewhen deemed necessary.A departmental task force study, under the vice-president of studentservices, was conducted in 1994 to review the role of the Sports Programas a function of the overall mission of <strong>Centralia</strong> <strong>College</strong>. The task forcefound the seven-part mission of the Sports Program, including promotionof individual success, personal growth, unique educational opportunities,and cooperation coincided with the stated goals of the <strong>College</strong>.Athletic StaffAll candidates for athletic staff positions receive printed copies of thegoals and objectives of the Intercollegiate Athletic Program, as well astheir individual job expectations and requirements. The athletic directoralso gives printed copies to all members of the coaching staff. Theathletic director and all head and assistant coaches annually reviewpolicies and rules concerning intercollegiate athletics to ensurecompliance with the NWAACC Code. The vice-president of studentservices, or a representative, also reviews athletic policies and programcontent. Each coach is given a copy of the program's mission statementand a job description.Athletic Policy<strong>Centralia</strong> <strong>College</strong> complies with this standard as no preference is given tostudent athletes by the institutional agencies regulating student affairs atthe <strong>College</strong>.
