Standard Three 35The quarterly schedule of classes lists credits for courses in degree andcertificate programs. The <strong>College</strong> catalog does this also, but credit isrepeated in the course description section of the catalog and in theprogram summary section. The catalog further notes that coursesnumbered below 100 may not be applied toward college-level certificatesor degrees. It also specifies the technical courses that may not beapplied or transferred to certain degree programs or institutions.Non-credit courses include community education classes and customizedtraining. No credits are listed for these courses and a statement at thebeginning of the community education section discusses refunds forthese non-credit classes. <strong>Student</strong> transcripts do not record credits orgrades for continuing education coursesUngraded credit is given for some community education courses incomputer software and applications. To ensure that students do notconfuse these courses with those applied toward a technical degree, thecourse numbers and credits do not match those listed in the catalog.No credit is listed in the description of personal enrichment courses listedin each quarterly schedule.<strong>Student</strong> transcripts clearly note when any awarded credit is non-degreecredit, and students are reminded that the receiving institution determinesthe transferability of coursesTransfer Credit<strong>Centralia</strong> <strong>College</strong> has procedures for evaluating and accepting transfercredit from other domestic and foreign institutions that provide adequatesafeguards to ensure high academic quality and relevance to thestudent’s program. Enrolled students may obtain an evaluation of theirofficial transcript from other institutions by completing the request formavailable at the Registration Office.Once the transcript is submitted, a credentials evaluator verifies that thetranscript sent is official and has the appropriate seal and signature intact.
