Standard Three 47vocational rehabilitation, Labor and Industries, EconomicallyDisadvantaged Workers' Assistance Act (EDWAA), and Running Startwaivers as well as outside scholarships.Financial Aid resources and funding are provided to any eligible studentregardless of gender, race, or ethnic background. Efforts are made toprovide interpreters to assist students who do not use English as their firstlanguage when they request help with their financial aid application.<strong>Centralia</strong> <strong>College</strong> makes a coordinated effort to provide information aboutfinancial aid resources to potential students within our service district.With assistance from two grant programs (<strong>Student</strong> Support <strong>Services</strong> andEducational Talent Search) information is taken to communities wherepeople may not normally access such resources. The financial aidservices have always had excellent program audit reports.Financial aid and scholarship information is provided in the catalog.Additional information about funding for education is included in theschedule each quarter. <strong>Student</strong>s who attend the new student orientationsare provided with information, and special financial aid workshops areprovided at all high schools in our service area. Assistance completingapplications is provided at Morton and Tenino on a regularly scheduledbasis. A new financial aid brochure has been published and will bedistributed to area high schools and agencies during fall quarter 1999.The <strong>College</strong> has started mailing scholarship applications and financial aidpackets to all area high school seniors. Brochures are available to sendto potential students who are not recent graduates, and Financial AidHandbooks are available for all financial aid students.The <strong>Centralia</strong> <strong>College</strong> Foundation provides additional resources forscholarships to students who attend <strong>Centralia</strong> <strong>College</strong>. A special eventeach year is a recognition celebration for students who have been givenscholarships. This activity has moved from spring to fall because manystudents who were awarded scholarships chose to go to other schoolslater in the year. These scholarships are re-awarded, and the <strong>College</strong>recognizes the new individuals who receive them. The entire scholarshipprocess was reviewed and revised fall 1999.
