ESTIA-SPOSEEuropean Space - Territorial Indicators and Actions for a SpatialPlanning Observatory in Southeast Europewww.uehr.panteion.gr/estia-sposeSPATIAL DEVELOPMENTMEASURE 1.1Project DescriptionESTIA-SPOSE builds upon the experience of theESTIA project and intends to develop actions fora Spatial Planning Observatory in South-EasternEurope (SPOSE), based on an integrated systemof territorial indicators fully compatible with theapproach of the European Spatial DevelopmentPerspective and the European Spatial PlanningObservatory Network (ESPON).This system will be tested in selected areas aimingto promote both, conceptual understanding andoperational compatibility.The project has three main components:i The Territorial Indicators System is the conceptualand methodological component of ES-TIA-SPOSE. Its construction is the most decisivefactor for the establishment of a SPOSE. It willbe based on the overall framework and the incomingresults of the ESPON.i The pilot applications of indicators in selectedareas is the empirical component of ESTIA-SPOSE.
