PRIORITY 3NATURAL & CULTURAL HERITAGEPROMOTION AND MANAGEMENT OF LANDSCAPE,NATURAL AND CULTURAL HERITAGEThis priority is especially oriented towards the valorisation of spatial values, both natural and cultural. According to theESDP principles, economic growth and social cohesion are based on the promotion and responsible management of spatialheritages here. Local authorities as well as sectoral competences are involved in this priority. With respect to this aim, co-ordinatedtransnational interventions aimed at creating „cultural (tourist) routes“ and other activities are supported. Commonmanagement methods to improve the level of knowledge on cultural heritage conditions, protection levels and risk exposurewill be developed.Cultural and natural heritage of importance to the whole area should be identified, and networking and marketing of naturaland cultural landscapes to be promoted. The programme aims also at a better integration of cultural and natural heritageprotection and enhancement issues into relevant sectoral policies.Three areas of intervention are foreseen:Measure 3.1Protecting and developing cultural heritageThis measure aims at developing and implementing transnational projects focussing on cultural heritage as a regional development asset andat developing mechanisms and tools which improve the effectiveness of cultural heritage protection policy against every kind of risk throughthe adoption of common methodologies.Measure 3.2Protecting and developing natural heritageThe major objectives of this measure are development and implementation of transnational projects focussing on natural heritage as aregional development asset.Measure 3.3Protecting and developing landscapeThis measure deals with development and implementation of transnational projects aimed at integrated landscape issues in spatial planningpolicies and territorial actions.INTERREG III B CADSES / PROJECT BOOK95
