MIGRALINKIntegration of Migrants in the Enlarged Europe and Policies for theReturn of Productive Intellectwww.migralink.orgSPATIAL DEVELOPMENTMEASURE 1.4Project DescriptionImmigration is a complex issue in the transitionprocess of the old EU of the 15 to the eastward enlargementof the EU for both, the new EU borderareas of today and for those regions that recentlyhave or will become EU border areas. Within theCADSES area, immigration flows have to be managedby many regions and countries such as Venetoor Austria and recently also by the newly accededcountries. A transnational network of public andprivate organisations concerned with immigrationissues will be established and serve as a platformfor exchanging information. It will also define potentialreturn strategies for immigrants who thencontribute to the development of their countriesof origin.
