The Ancoratus, from which thefollowing creed is taken, is a statement of the Catholic faithwhich, amidst the storms of the Arian controversy, shouldserve as an anchor of salvation for the Christians. The dateof the following creed, which has come to be known asthe Salaminium, is 374.
