Yet, solicitous for its continuance, as soon as information wasbrought to him of your return from China, he determined that a personin his confidence should repair to your presence; a measure, whichthe consoling character of a friend loudly demanded, and which wasrendered stillmore necessary, by his desire to convey his earliest congratulations,upon the joyful tidings of the Lama's re-appearance in theworld.
