Pile Resistance (kN)175geotechnical resistance charts given in the design manual were used for pile designs, especially to determine the number of piles and embedded pile lengths. Based on this staticanalysis method, fourteen (14) piles with each having an embedded length of approximately16.76 m were initially estimated. Based on the estimated pile length of 16.76 m, the averageSPT N-value was calculated as 12.2 using Eq. (4.5). Similarly, the average C h was calculatedto be 0.0297 cm 2 /min.= 12.20Construction StageBased on driving information on a trial pile using a Delmag D16-32 diesel hammer, ahammer blow count of 85 blow/m was recorded at the EOD. Based on a bearing chartgenerated using the WEAP-SA shown below, the pile resistance at the EOD (R EOD ) wasestimated to be 635 kN.Bearing Chart Generated Using WEAP-SA900800700635 kN60050040030020010000 20 40 60 80 100 120 140Hammer Blow Count (bl/m)The equivalent pile radius (r p ) was determined to be 4.97 cm and a time (t) of 5 days foraccounting pile setup was assumed. The nominal pile resistance at the time of 5 days afterthe EOD (R t ) was estimated using the proposed pile setup Eq. (4.9), and the differencebetween R t and R EOD yielded the pile setup resistance (R setup ).
