AbstractThe main objective <strong>of</strong> this paper is to establish regional Load and Resistance FactorDesign (LRFD) recommendations for bridge pile designs, based on a historical PIle LOadTest (PILOT) database and 10 recently completed field tests. Resistance factors weredeveloped for the Wave Equation Analysis Program (WEAP) and CAse Pile Wave AnalysisProgram (CAPWAP) using the First Order Second Moment (FOSM) method. Compared withthe latest American Association <strong>of</strong> State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO)(2010) recommendations, the regionally-calibrated resistance factors were improved forWEAP and CAPWAP. Using these calibrated results, the design and constructionefficiencies <strong>of</strong> piles were enhanced by minimizing the discrepancy between design and fieldpile resistances. This was achieved by integrating WEAP and CAPWAP as constructioncontrol methods as part <strong>of</strong> the design process.
