The modified asphalt bitumens are engineeredfrom a select blend of highly refined unoxidized asphaltand Shell Kraton block copolymer rubber.Conventional asphalt bitumens and cold processmastics are available options. The "felts," or fabricreinforcement, are either polyester, fiberglass, modifiedbitumen, or a combination thereof depending uponspecification used. Unlike other rubberized asphalts,the Ram-Tough KLB-100 and K-312 bitumens can bemelted in conventional direct-fired roofing kettleswithout degradation, they are pumpable, and can beapplied with conventional hot dispensers and mops.Flashing details are standard built-up roofing detailsgenerally in conformance with NRCA standard detailspecification plates.
