Impressions<br />
General cr me scene photographs must be taken<br />
to relate the mpress ons to the cr me scene.<br />
Exam nat on-qual ty photographs then must be<br />
taken to obta n max mum deta l for forens c<br />
exam nat on and must nclude a scale. All<br />
mpress ons must be photographed us ng both<br />
methods.<br />
General Crime Scene Photographs<br />
General cr me scene photographs <strong>of</strong> shoe pr nt or<br />
t re tread mpress ons must nclude close-range<br />
and long-range photographs. ISO 400 color film<br />
should be used. The photographs must show the<br />
relat onsh p <strong>of</strong> the mpress ons to the surround ng<br />
area. General cr me scene photographs are not<br />
su table for footwear or t re exam nat ons.<br />
Examination-Quality Photographs<br />
Exam nat on-qual ty photographs must be taken<br />
d rectly over the mpress ons us ng a tr pod and<br />
l ght ng. A scale must be n every photograph. The<br />
purpose <strong>of</strong> these photographs s to produce a<br />
deta led negat ve that can be enlarged to natural<br />
s ze. Exam nat on-qual ty photographs must be<br />
