Elemental analys s <strong>of</strong> bullet jackets can be done<br />
when a bullet has fragmented so that nd v dual<br />
p eces cannot be used for compar son w th testfired<br />
ammunition from a firearm or in the absence<br />
<strong>of</strong> a firearm or the lead component <strong>of</strong> the bullet.<br />
Th s analys s may be helpful when there are<br />
mult ple shooters and types <strong>of</strong> jacketed<br />
ammunition. Alloy classification can differentiate<br />
among bullet jacket alloys <strong>of</strong> d fferent manufacturers<br />
or among the bullet jacket alloys n<br />
