Photographic Comparisons<br />
Examinations <strong>of</strong> film, negatives, digital images,<br />

quest oned mages w th those n known mages.<br />
Subject(s) or object(s) also can be compared<br />
between mult ple quest oned mages. Subject<br />
compar sons nclude fac al compar sons or can be<br />
made between l ke body parts, such as hands or<br />
ears. Examples <strong>of</strong> objects that can be compared<br />
include clothing, firearms, and vehicles.<br />
Photogrammetry<br />
Phys cal d mens ons can be der ved from mages<br />
through the use <strong>of</strong> geometr c formulas or on-s te<br />
compar son. For on-s te compar sons, exam ners<br />
enter the scene and place a he ght chart at the<br />
locat on <strong>of</strong> the subject(s) or object(s) <strong>of</strong> nterest.<br />
Examples <strong>of</strong> photogrammetry nclude determ n ng<br />
the he ght <strong>of</strong> a bank robbery subject(s) and the<br />
length <strong>of</strong> the weapon(s) used by the subject(s)<br />
dep cted n surve llance mages.<br />
