At StridAtj0nnin(about 1500 m a.s.l.). Arcynopteryx compactaMcLachlan was collected.Low alpine zoneIn the upper part ofthe low alpine zone (Tab.1) and in addition to the species captured inthe middle alpine zone, A. compacta, Diurananseni (Kempney), Isoper/a obscura (Zetterstedt),Leuctra nigra (Oliver), Amphinemurastandfussi Ris and Nemoura cinerea(Retzius) were caught. Dominant species atthe various streams were A. standfussi, N.cinerea, P. meyeri, and C. atra. C. atra outnumberedother species at Blesbekken.In the lower part of the low alpine zoneCapnopsis schi//eri (Rostock) and Leuctrafusca Linnaeus can be added to the list ofspecies from higher elevation. P. meyeri outnumberedother species in the catches atKallvella. N. cinerea and N. pictetii were dominantspecies at Raubekken, and I. obscura,N. pictetii, C. atra and L. fusca at Blesbekken.Sub-alpine zoneTwenty-three species were recorded (Tabs. 2and 3), and additional to those mentionedearlier are Diura bicaudata (Linnaeus), Isoper/adifformis (Klapa'lek), Isoper/a grammatica(Poda), Dinocras cepha/otes Curtis,Siphonoper/a burmeisteri (Pictet), Taeniopteryxnebu/osa (Linnaeus), Amphinemuraborea/is Morton, Nemoura avicu/aris Morton,Capnia bifrons (Newman), and Capniapygmaea (Zetterstedt).47
