Contribution to the knowledge of the NorwegianLepidoptera 11LEIF AARVIKAarvik, L. 1987. Contribution to the knowledge of the Norwegian Lepidoptera 11.Fauna norv. Ser. B, 34, 7-13.Teleiodes sequax (Haworth, 1828) and Pyrausta ostrinalis (Hiibner, 1796) are deletedfrom the Norwegian list. Further information on Rhyacionia logaea Durrant, 1911 andAcerbia alpina (Quensel, 1802) in Norway are given. The following species arereported new to Norway; Tinea bothniella Svensson, 1953, Elachista triatomea (Haworth,1828), Amphisbatis incongruella (Stainton, 1849), Agonopterix astrantiae(Heinemann, 1870), Pexicopia malvella (Hiibner, 1805) Psoricoptera speciosellaTeich, 1892, Leioptilus lienigianus (ZelIer, 1852), Schoenobius gigantella (Denis &SchiffermiilIer, 1775) and Mesapamea secalella Remm, 1983.Leif Aarvik, Nyborgveien 19 A, N-1430 As, Norway.INTRODUCTIONExamination of Lepidoptera material in museumsand private collections has shown thatTeleiodes sequax (Hw.) and Pyrausta ostrinalis(Hb.) should be deleted from the Norwegianlist. The distributions in Norway ofthree pairs of sibling species, viz. Psoricopteragibbosella (Zell.), P. speciosella Teichand Rhyacionia duplana (Hb.), R. logaeaDUff. and Mesapamea secalis (L.), M. secalellaRemm are discussed. In addition sevenspecies are reported new to Norway and detailsof the Norwegian record of Acerbia alpina(Quens.) are given. Latin names onplants are according to Lid (1974). The EISgridnumbers are mentioned only after thefirst locality when there are records frommore than one locality in a square.Species deleted from the Norwegian listGelechiidae: Teleiodes sequax (Haworth,1828)This species was recorded new to Norway byGf0nlien (1937) from AAY, Ris0r; but nomaterial exists among Gr0nlien's Lepidopteraat the Zoological Museums in Oslo andBergen. Mehl (1973) recorded sequax fromMRI, Kvanne, but Opheim (1979a) statedthat this specimen was misidentified and belongedto Teleiopsis diffinis Haworth. T. sequaxfigures as Norwegian in the lists by Krogeruset al. (1971) and Opheim (1978). TheFauna norv. SeT. B, 34: 7-13. Oslo 1987.food-plant of sequax is Helianthemum whichdoes not grow in Norway. As no material ofsequax is present in Norwegian collections, and it is very unlikely to occur here, it shouldbe deleted from the Norwegian list.Pyralidae: Pyrausta ostrinalis(Hubner, 1796)The name ostrinalis has been used in theNorwegian literature for a long time either asa form of Pyrausta purpuralis (Linnaeus,1758) e.g. Sch0yen (1893), Haanshus (1933)or as a distinct species (Krogerus et al. 1971,Opheim 1975).Examination of specimens present underthe ostrinalislabel at the Zoological Museumin Oslo, showed that they all belonged topurpuralis. Similarly no ostrinalis specimenscould be found at the Zoological Museum inBergen (A. Fjeldsa pers. comm.) or in anyprivate collection. Consequently ostrinalisshould be deleted from the Norwegian list.Species new to NorwayUnder this heading eight species new to Norwayand two species which have been recordedpreviously, but without precise data, aretreated.Tineidae: Tinea bothniella Svensson, 1953Recently Mr. Reidar Mehl showed me thegenitalia of a male Tinea species which in7
