For some speciesthe numbers also refer to large numbersof specimens collected for phenological studies, and the collection methods do not offerthe same efficiency for all species. On theother hand, several samples contain immatures, which, at present, have not been determined,a.nd hence are not included here.Aeolothrips ericae Bagnall, 1920The only record from Dovrefjell refers to asingle female specimen (f. mulleri) beatenfrom heather of Arctostaphylos alpina (L.)Spreng. in the terrain against Gavalia (abt1100 m a.s.l.) (Host plant reported by Olsen& Solem (1982) as Erica sp., was a writingerror of Ericaceae species.) In the vicinity ofTrondheim the preferred hosts of the speciesseem to be Trifolium pratense L. and Lotuscorniculatus L. (Olsen & Solem 1982). Recordsreported in the literature are predominantlyfrom plants belonging to Fabaceaeand Ericaceae, but in addition the species hasbeen collected from plants from a variety offamilies (Priesner 1926-28, Mound et al.1976, Schliephake & Klint 1979). Accordingto Bagnall, the larvae is carnivorous (Priesner1926-28).Aeolothrips faciatus (Linne, 1758)A single specimen, a male, was beaten fromTaraxacum sp. in the mixed vegetation alongDriva (abt 950 m a.s.l.). According to JacotGuillarmod (1970) and Schliephake & Klint(1979) the species is predator on thrips andmites, without any plant preference.85
