THE NEW JERSEY STATE <strong>EMS</strong> SYSTEMThe <strong>New</strong> <strong>Jersey</strong> Office <strong>of</strong> Emergency Medical Services (O<strong>EMS</strong>) was created in 1970 aspart <strong>of</strong> the Department <strong>of</strong> Health and Senior Services. Several vacancies are in key positions including the chief and assistantchief <strong>of</strong> <strong>EMS</strong> Licensing, the assistant chief <strong>of</strong> <strong>EMS</strong> education, and several technical andadministrative support staff. Current O<strong>EMS</strong> staffing is shown in Figure 21:TriData, a Division <strong>of</strong> 81September 2007<strong>System</strong> Planning Corporation
