Education Type Ministry of Education Summary Report of Education Situation ,Year 1388 1.2 Students and Schools by all Programs 1.2.1 All Students by Gender and Education Type: The table below shows, there are 6,693,966 students, of which 4,240,415 are male and 2,453,551 are female. This figure covers all the schools including General, Islamic, Teacher Training, and Technical and Vocational. Among these 4 categories of schools, the General Education has the most number of students; it covers almost 97% of the total number of students. Islamic Education covers almost 2% of the students. There are more male than female students in these schools. Table below shows gender ratio, which is an important social indicator to measure the extent of prevailing equity between males and females at a given point of time. It is mainly the outcome of the interplay of gender differentials. It is usually measured as the number of males per 100 females.
