1.3.1 General <strong>Education</strong><br />
1.3.1.1 Students by Province, Grade and Gender<br />
There are in total, 6,504.715 students in General educations (GE), 62.75 % are male and 37.25% are<br />
female students. Graph 4 shows the GE by grades and genders. Grade 1 has highest female enrolled<br />
than in other Grades. The gender ratio shows grade 1 to grade 3 does not have much decrease in<br />
female enrolment, and female enrolment decreases as the grade increases (Graph 5).<br />

Graph 6 shows students by Province. The highest numbers <strong>of</strong> students are found in Kabul City,<br />
around eight hundred thousands, followed by six hundred thousand in Herat province and 5 hundred<br />
thousand in Nangarhar.<br />
