Ministry of Education Summary Report of Education Situation ,Year 1388 1.3.2.7 Islamic Education Schools with Toilet facilities Graph 27: School with Toilet Facility, IE 1.3.2.8 Climate Graph 28: Number of School by Climate, IE Ministry of Education 26 Of the 518 Islamic Education schools, 92% of schools have toilet information. Total numbers of toilets in all provinces are 479, 92% are operational, 2% are modern non operational and 6% are old non operational toilets. The school calendar in Afghanistan is based on three climatic conditions. They are: � Hot (warm) climate � Cold climate � Extreme cold climate Of the 518 Islamic Education schools, 72% are running in Cold Session, 18% are running in Hot Season and 3% are running in Coldest Season. The status of 7% of schools is unknown Of the 136,935 students, 79% are in Cold Season Enrolment, 20% are in Hot Season Enrolment and 1% Coldest Season Enrolment. EMIS Directorate

Figure shows that Nangarhar has highest number of employees and Zabul has lowest number of employees. Graph 30: Employees By Gender & Province, IE 1.3.2.10 Teachers by gender and Qualification Ministry of Education 27 There are a total of 6038 employees for the Islamic Education. These employees are teachers, Administrative Staffs and Ajirs. 70% male teachers, 2% female teachers, 7% male administrative staffs, less than 1% female administrative staffs, 19% male Ajirs and less than 1% female Ajirs. The graph below shows the teacher by their qualification and gender. There are more teachers who completed grade 12 for both for male and female. There are also teachers who completed grade 14 or grade 7 to 11for both male and female. There is almost equal number of male and female teachers who completed from private schools and the figure is almost identical roughly 16% . There are more under-graduate female teachers than male teachers. There are few male teachers who completed master degree or Doctorate. EMIS Directorate
