Interim AccidentInsurance CertificateWhen does Interim AccidentInsurance start?Unless <strong>MLC</strong> nominates an earlier date, Interim AccidentInsurance will start when <strong>MLC</strong> or the Trustee receives anapplication for LCS or PPP at any of its offices togetherwith one of the following:• one full instalment of the premium• a fully completed Direct Debit Request Schedule orCredit Card Deduction Authority or Direct Payment• a MasterKey <strong>Super</strong>annuation Deduction Authority(in respect to LCS).If the application is submitted electronically, InterimAccident insurance will start upon submission.If your application is not accepted, any premium receivedby <strong>MLC</strong> will be refunded, less any government charges ortaxes, to you or to the Trustee for LCS members.Your Interim Accident cover is void if the premiumpayment for LCS and/or PPP is dishonoured.Your Duty of DisclosureInterim Accident Insurance will only be available if youand the lives insured nominated in the application for LCSand/or PPP have completed the application accuratelyand honestly and have complied with your Duty ofDisclosure as set out in your application.Your Duty of Disclosure does not end on completionof your application and personal statement. Your dutycontinues until <strong>MLC</strong> accepts your application andissues a Schedule and a policy document to you.<strong>MLC</strong> will not pay more than one benefit<strong>MLC</strong> will not pay more than one benefit under thisInterim Accident Insurance for any one accident to anylife insured.Benefit LimitsIf you are applying to replace an existing policy, the amountof any benefit will be limited to the amount (if any) by whichthe sum proposed to be insured under the LCS and/or PPPapplication exceeds the sum insured under the policy tobe replaced.When won’t <strong>MLC</strong> pay?In addition to <strong>MLC</strong>’s standard exclusions (as set out in thecurrent LCS and/or PPP policy document and outlined inthe PDS), <strong>MLC</strong> will not pay under this insurance for deathor disability arising from or contributed to by:• any condition that you or any life insured knew aboutbefore applying for LCS and/or PPP• the life insured engaging in any occupation, sport orpastime that <strong>MLC</strong> would not cover under <strong>MLC</strong>’s normalassessment guidelines.Furthermore, <strong>MLC</strong> will not pay if:• the cover applied for would have been declined under<strong>MLC</strong>’s current assessment guidelines, or• you lodge a claim for an event or condition thatwould have been excluded under the normalunderwriting process.When does Interim AccidentInsurance end?<strong>MLC</strong> will cancel your Interim Accident Insurance by noticein writing on the earliest of the following:• 90 days after the start of this Interim Accident Insuranceunless before then <strong>MLC</strong> tells you a different date• the date <strong>MLC</strong> issues a Schedule following <strong>MLC</strong>’sacceptance of your application for LCS and/or PPP(or in the case of additional insurance, when <strong>MLC</strong> issuesa revised Schedule to you)• when <strong>MLC</strong> advises you that your application has notbeen accepted• when <strong>MLC</strong> advises you that your Interim AccidentInsurance has ended• when you withdraw your application.Page 84 <strong>MLC</strong> <strong>Life</strong> <strong>Cover</strong> <strong>Super</strong> and <strong>MLC</strong> <strong>Personal</strong> <strong>Protection</strong> <strong>Portfolio</strong> PDS
