Critical Illnessinsurance<strong>MLC</strong> will base the premium for the restored insurance on<strong>MLC</strong>’s normal Critical Illness rates and your age at thetime, taking into account the insured benefit, yourpremium structure and any special conditions on youroriginal Critical Illness insurance.When won’t <strong>MLC</strong> pay?Critical Illness(includingstand-alone)Stand-aloneCritical Illness<strong>MLC</strong> will not pay:a benefit for any critical conditions arisingfrom or contributed to by:• intentional self-inflicted injury orattempted suicide• any injury that occurred, or sicknessthat first appeared, first happenedor was first diagnosed before thepolicy commenced or was lastreinstated—or, for Critical Illness PlusExtra Benefits Option, before theoption began or was last reinstated—(unless disclosed to, and acceptedby, <strong>MLC</strong> as part of the application orreinstatement process).the death benefit of $5,000 if you commitsuicide within 13 months after thisinsurance began or was last reinstated.When does Critical Illness insurance end?Your insurance will end when:• the insurance is cancelled at your written request(cover ceases on the next paid-to date and <strong>MLC</strong> will notrefund any premium paid up to then)• the insurance is cancelled because you stoppaying premiums• the policy is cancelled because you make afraudulent claim• <strong>MLC</strong> pays your full Critical Illness benefit• <strong>MLC</strong> pays your full Critical Illness benefit, and/or TPDor Loss of Independence benefit, if they were part ofor connected to your <strong>Life</strong> <strong>Cover</strong> and the benefit paidequals the <strong>Life</strong> <strong>Cover</strong> insurance• <strong>MLC</strong> pays your full <strong>Life</strong> <strong>Cover</strong> benefit or your <strong>Life</strong> <strong>Cover</strong>insurance ends, if your Critical Illness insurance is part ofor connected to <strong>Life</strong> <strong>Cover</strong>• you reach the expiry age for your type of insurance andpremium structure• you reach the termination date shown on your Schedule• you die.Expiry ages:• cover for level premium ceases on the next review dateafter you turn 65• cover for stepped premium or decreasing cover ceaseson the next review date after you turn 75• cover for TPD as a Critical Condition option ceases onthe next review date after you turn 65.Page 22 <strong>MLC</strong> <strong>Life</strong> <strong>Cover</strong> <strong>Super</strong> and <strong>MLC</strong> <strong>Personal</strong> <strong>Protection</strong> <strong>Portfolio</strong> PDS
