CAIVPE0020yyzz — GET ERRORReason:An error occurred while attempting to read a record from a VSAM data set. TheVSAM return code from register 15 is displayed in the 'yy' position of the returncode, and the VSAM error code from the ACB is displayed in the 'zz' position.Action:Determine the cause of the error and perform the steps necessary to correct thecondition.CAIVPEVPE Abend CodesVPE/CICS issues abend codes in the xxxx format, where xxxx is a 4-characterabend identifier. There are two types of transaction abends in VPE/CICS. An abend may beasynchronously initiated by CICS (e.g. ASRA, ATNI, etc) or synchronouslyinitiated by VPE-based programs via the $ABT (abort the transaction) call toVPE. In both cases, VPE traps the abend. Abend handling includes dumpingstorage and program areas, releasing all resources which have been tracked byVPE in the transaction and session, resetting the terminal translate case (upper ormixed) to its value at the beginning of the session, causing a standard CICSabend message to appear at the terminal and returning to the monitor withoutscheduling another transaction. For non-MRO environments, the standard CICS abend message is displayed. Theabend code displayed is the same as the synchronous or asynchronous code. For MRO environments in which the abending program is executing in the MROApplication Owning Region (AOR), the terminal message will be the standardAZI6 message. This message also contains the abend code of the program in theAOR.VPE/CICS abend codes are VPE-generated abend codes that appear in thestandard CICS abend message. If VPE abends from a terminal activity, the abend code will be displayed. If VPEabends from a non-terminal activity, the abend code can be found in the dumpdataset.Abend and Return Codes 9–13
