06 Starting and drivingTowing and recoveryTowing eyeThe towing eye is in the tool kit in the cargoarea. You must screw the towing eye intoplace before towing. The socket and coverfor the towing eye are on the right-hand sideof each bumper.Remove the cover as follows:– Release the bottom edge of the cover (A)with a coin.– Screw in the towing eye (B) firmly– Screw in firmly, right up to the flange (C).You can use a wheel brace.After use, unscrew the towing eye and refitthe cover.The towing eye may only be used for towingon roads, not for recovery after driving into aditch or the like. Professional help should becalled for recovery.IMPORTANTThe towing eye cannot be fitted in the rearbracket on cars with towbar. In which case,secure the tow rope in the towbar. For thisreason, it is advisable to always store thedetachable towbar in the car.06133
