02 Instruments and controlsPower windowsOperatingThe power windows are operated using thecontrols in the doors. The ignition key mustbe in position I and II for the power windowsto operate. The windows continue to workwhen the car has stopped and ignition keyhas been removed, provided none of thedoors is opened. Operate the windows withcaution.To open a window:– Depress the front of the control.To close a window:– Raise the front of the control.Driver’s doorBABlocking power windows in the reardoors02WARNINGIf there are children in the car:• Remember to switch off the supply to thepower windows by removing the ignitionkey if the driver leaves the car.• Make sure that children’s and other passengers’hands are clear when closingthe windows.• If the rear door windows are operatedfrom the driver’s door:• Check that none of the rear seat passengersare in danger of getting their handscaught when closing the windows.The driver can operate both power windowsfrom the driver’s seat. The windows can beopened and closed in two ways:– Press the control (A) slightly down or pull itslightly up. The power windows go up ordown as long as the switch is actuated.– Press the control (A) all the way down orpull it all the way up, and then release. Thewindows then open or close automatically.If the window is obstructed by an object,the movement will stop.NOTEThe function auto up for the passenger sideis only available in certain markets.Controls (B) to operate windows in the rear doors.The power windows in the rear seat can beblocked with the switch on the driver’s doorcontrol panel. Always remember to switch offcurrent to the power windows (i.e. removethe ignition key) if you leave children in thecar unattended.The light in the switch is illuminatedThe rear door windows can only be operatedfrom the driver’s door.The light in the switch is extinguishedThe rear door windows can be operated bothwith the controls on each rear door and withthe controls on the driver’s door.61
02 Instruments and controlsPower windowsFront passenger seatRear power windows02The control for the power window at the frontpassenger seat operates that window only.The rear door windows can be operated withthe controls on the doors and the switch onthe driver’s door. If the light in the switch forblocking power windows in the rear doors(located in the driver’s door control panel) isilluminated, the rear door windows can onlybe operated from the driver’s door.WARNINGIf rear door windows are being operatedfrom the driver’s door, check that no rearseat passenger are in danger of gettingpinched when the windows close.62
