11. Communications Antennas shall not cause radio frequency interference with othercommunications facilities in the <strong>Township</strong>.12. If a Communications Antenna remains unused for a period of twelve (12) consecutivemonths, the owner or operator shall dismantle and remove the CommunicationsAntenna within six (6) months of the expiration of such twelve (12) month period.504.4 Conditions for Telecommunications Towers- All telecommunicationstowers are permitted only as a conditional use, subject to the following provisions:1. The applicant shall demonstrate that he/she is licensed by the FederalCommunications Commission (FCC) to operate a Telecommunications Tower.2. The applicant shall demonstrate that the proposed Telecommunications Tower andCommunications Antennas proposed to be co-located thereon comply with allapplicable standards established by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)governing human exposure to electromagnetic radiation.3. Telecommunications Towers shall comply with all applicable Federal AviationAdministration (FAA) and Commonwealth Bureau of Aviation regulations.4. Any applicant proposing construction of a new Telecommunications Tower shalldemonstrate that a good faith effort has been made to obtain permission to mount orco-locate the Communications Antennas on an existing building, structure, or tower.A good faith effort shall mean that the applicant show, through certified mail receiptsand a copy of the letter, that all owners of potentially suitable buildings or structureswithin a one-quarter (1/4) mile radius, and all owners of existing TelecommunicationsTowers with space available for co-location within a one-half (1/2) mile radius of theproposed Telecommunications Tower site be contacted and that one (1) or more ofthe following reasons for not selecting such structure apply:a. The proposed Communications Antennas and related equipment would exceedthe structural capacity of the existing building or structure and itsreinforcement cannot be accomplished at a reasonable cost.b. The proposed Communications Antennas and related equipment would causeradio frequency interference with other existing equipment for that existingbuilding/structure and the interference cannot be prevented at a reasonablecost.c. Such existing buildings or structures do not have adequate location, space,access, or height to accommodate the proposed Communications Antennasand equipment or to allow it to perform its intended function.24
