Court, Inner. A court surrounded on all sides by an exterior wall of a structure or by suchwalls and a lot line.Court, Outer. A court having at least one side thereof opening onto a street, alley, yard orother permanently open space.Covenant. A private legal restriction on the use of land, contained in the deed to the propertyor otherwise formally recorded.Coverage. That percentage of the lot or site area covered by a principal and accessorystructures.Curb Level. The elevation of the street grade as established in accordance with the law orwhen a curb level has not been established, the grade at the center of the street.Curb Line. The line establishing the width of a cartway in a right-of-way. Where curbs donot exist the edge of pavement shall be the curb line.Dedication. Gift, donation or transfer of property from the owner to another party.Deed Restriction. See Covenant.Development. Any man-made change to improved or unimproved parcel, including but notlimited to buildings or other structures, the subdivision of land, the placement of mobilehomes, streets, and other paving, utilities, filling, grading, excavation, mining, dredging, ordrilling operations.District. A district or a zone shall be any portion of the territory of the <strong>Township</strong> of <strong>Otter</strong><strong>Creek</strong> within which certain uniform regulations and requirements or various combinationsthereof apply under the provisions of this <strong>Ordinance</strong>.Drive-In Business. A place of business where persons are served in automobiles from arefreshment stand, restaurant, food stores and the like.Driveway. A private roadway providing access for vehicles to parking space, garage,dwelling or other structure.Dwelling. A building arranged and used for permanent residential occupancy containing adwelling unit or units, but excluding a boarding house, hospital, institutional home, hotel,motel, and other similar types of uses.Dwelling, Multiple-Family. A permanent building have two (2) or more dwelling units anddesigned to be used or occupied as a residence by two (2) or more families livingindependently of each other and each with its own exterior entrance door or own entrancedoor from an interior hallway.86
