7-15 CHASSIS◉ BRAKE FLUID REPLACEMENT● Place the vehicle on a level surface and keep thehandlebar straight.● Remove the master cylinder reservoir cap anddiaphragm.● Suck up the old brake fluid as much as possible.● Fill the reservoir with new brake fluid.Specification and classification : DOT 4● Connect a clear hose to the air bleeder valve andinsert the other end of the hose into a receptacle.● Loosen the air bleeder valve and pump the brakelever until the old brake fluid is completely out ofthe brake system.● Close the air bleeder valve and disconnect theclear hose. Fill the reservoir with new brake fluidto the upper end of the inspection window.Brake air bleeder valve: 9~14 N∙m (0.9~1.4 kgf∙m)CAUTION Never reuse the brake fluid left over from previousservicing or stored for long periods. Bleed air from the brake system.(Refer to page 2-17)◉ BRAKE CALIPER REMOVALAND DISASSEMBLY● Remove the front wheel. (Refer to page 7-8)● Disconnect the brake hose from the brake caliperby removing the brake hose union bolt 1 andallow the brake fluid to drain into a suitable receptacle.● Remove the brake caliper by removing the brakecaliper mounting bolts 2 .● Remove the brake pads. (Refer to page 7-14)WARNINGBrake fluid, if it leaks, will interfere with safe runningand discolor painted surfaces. Check thebrake hose, brake pipe and hose joints for cracksand leakage of brake fluid.12
