CHASSIS 7-56◉ REAR SHOCK ABSORBERDISPOSALWARNING The rear shock absorber unit contains highpressurenitrogen gas. Mishandling can cause explosion. Keep away from fire and heat. High gas pressurecaused by heat can cause an explosion. Release gas pressure before disposing.▣ GAS PRESSURE RELEASE● Remove the valve cap.● Press the valve with a screwdriver to bleed out thenitrogen gas.WARNING Releasing high pressure gas from the rearshock absorber unit can be hazardous. Neverperform any servicing until the nitrogen gaspressure has been released from the rearshock absorber unit. When releasing the gas pressure, place a ragover the gas valve and use the tip of a screwdriverto press the valve. Do not use your fingerto depress the gas valve, and be sure todirect the valve away from your face and body. Be sure to always wear eye protection whenperforming this procedure.◉ REMOUNTINGRemounting the rear shock absorber in the reverseorder of removal. Pay attention to the following points :● Tighten each bolt/nut to the specified torque.Rear shock absorber nut (Upper) 1: 40~60 N∙m (4.0~6.0 kgf∙m)Rear shock absorber nut (Lower) 2: 40~60 N∙m (4.0~6.0 kgf∙m)Rear cushion rod nut 3: 70~100 N∙m (7.0~10.0 kgf∙m)123
