Details give information about the characters& setting They help readers understand what is notexplicitly stated They give the information a particular moodor feeling They give evidence to support the generalclaims of the articleTo answer these questions, you have to let yourbrain think in different ways than you may beused to. You have to examine the details.Here's an example:Question: A woman who was just learning todrive went down a one-way street inTacloban, heading the wrong direction, butdidn't break the law. How come?Answer: She was walking!Two vans, A and B, are crossing Leyte betweenOrmoc and Tacloban, which are 210 km apart.Van A leaves Ormoc at 80 km per hour. Van Bleaves Tacloban at 90 km per hour. Which willbe closer to Tacloban when they meet? When the van meet, they will be at exactlythe same point. Therefore, they will each bethe same distance from Tacloban.(Hint: You don’t have to do any math to get theanswer. Just use your head!)1
