Each service station performs the following services:• Capping the nozzles of the ink cartridge. Capping the ink cartridge protects thecartridge from drying out and contamination.• Firing all nozzles into a tray. Firing all nozzles clears the nozzles from debris (such aspaper fibers) and dried ink.• Wiping the nozzle plate. Turn the printer Offline by pressing the Offline key.2. Open the transparent safety cover. The cartridge carriage will move out of theservice station.WiperCapFigure 53: Cleaning the service station3. Dampen a cloth with distilled water and clean the wiper until it is clear of any inkaccumulation.4. Use the cloth to wipe any ink residues away from the orange cap.5.
