Student Feedback & LeadershipPresentations were made by representatives from Property Services <strong>and</strong>AV/IT Services that outlined the following changes that had become partof the systematic approach to service provision:––A Venue In<strong>for</strong>mation Sheet had been developed <strong>for</strong> all teaching spacesmade available on the Property Services website as well as beingdistributed to each School’s Reception area. A st<strong>and</strong>ard checklistbox of resources was available in each venue, together witha troubleshooting list.––Orientation sessions had been developed <strong>for</strong> staff on how to bestuse the facilities in each venue.––AV services have agreed to add a Date of Service sticker on allequipment.––The method of reporting problems was to be developed to signalto staff the support is available <strong>and</strong> how to access it.––Syllabus Plus had been upgraded with enhanced featuresto improve timetabling.––All strategic spaces had been centralised into a single managementsystem as a strategy to provide a single point of contact to respondto staff requests.––A new phone response system had been introduced to ensure teachingspaces have priority directly to a contact person.––A St<strong>and</strong>ard model was being introduced <strong>for</strong> all teaching spaces.––IT Response time had been extended from 8am to 8pm <strong>for</strong>teaching support.––A plan to upgrade AV <strong>and</strong> IT in teaching spaces to improve online supporthad been developed.––A system to proactively manage <strong>and</strong> maintain resources rather than justrespond to problems had been developed.At the Plenary, the Head of School of Property Services <strong>and</strong> Construction <strong>and</strong>Project Management explained that to consolidate a more proactive approachto negative <strong>student</strong> <strong>feedback</strong> about learning <strong>and</strong> teaching spaces, the ViceChancellor had established a <strong>Learning</strong> Space Advisory Group (LSAG). Theaim of LSAG is to ensure that innovative learning <strong>and</strong> teaching principles<strong>and</strong> practices systematically in<strong>for</strong>m the design <strong>and</strong> development of RMITinfrastructure. Membership of LSAG includes <strong>for</strong>mal <strong>Learning</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Teaching</strong>Leaders, the Manager Property Services, the ALTC Leadership ProjectManager, <strong>and</strong> a provision <strong>for</strong> the College PVC(A). LSAG would advise,<strong>and</strong> work with Property Services to develop architectural briefs to ensurethat innovative <strong>Learning</strong> <strong>and</strong> <strong>Teaching</strong> principles <strong>and</strong> practices are includedin RMIT’s Infrastructure plans.Page 54
