Keys / DisplaysChapter 2How to Use the Keys and DisplaysThis chapter will show you the Series 922 front panel, and the function of eachdisplay, key and LED. Figures 6 and 7 explain the 922 front panel.Front Panel InformationUse Figures 6 and 7 to assist you in learning the locations and functions of thefront panel components.Use the following figures to learn the nature and function of the Series 922's keysand displays.Figure 5 -Series 922 FrontPanel InformationFigure 6Figure 7Where To Go From HereOnce you have studied the keys and displays in this chapter, and have a goodidea of where everything is on the Series 922, continue to Chapter 3 for theSample Program. If you skip the sample program, do not forget to check theposition of DIP Switch #1 before you begin programming your control afterinstallation. With DIP Switch #1 OFF, the 922 saves your program wheneverpower is removed (warm start). Actual and Alphanumeric Display AreaACTUAL DisplayShows the actual valueof the process variablefor Channel 1 infour digits.Keys / Displays°F LEDIndicates the value inthe ACTUAL display istemperature in degreesFahrenheit.When both °C and °FLEDs are OFF, the922 is displayingProcess VariableUnits (PVUs).°C LEDIndicates the value inthe ACTUAL display istemperature in degreesCelsius.Keyboard AreaAlphanumeric DisplayShows entry prompts,the parameter values inalphanumerics andChannel 2 ACTUALvalue.Figure 6 -Actual and AlphanumericDisplayFront PanelInformationMODE KeyThis key steps theSeries 922 in sequencefrom prompt to prompt.UP KeyIncreases the value inthe alphanumericdisplay. A light touchincreases the value byone digit. Hold the keydown to increase thedisplayed value at arapid rate.DOWN KeyActs opposite the UPkey. Decreases thevalue in the alphanumericdisplay. A lighttouch decreases thevalue by one digit. Holdthe key down to decreasethe displayedvalue at a rapid rate.90° Front Panel ScrewSecures the controlchassis in its case with a1/4 turn clockwise orreleases the chassiswith a 1/4 turn counterclockwise.RUN/HOLD KeyExecutes or holds aprogram from anyMain menu.Run/Hold LEDsWhen the HOLD LED isON steady, the 922 is ina HOLD condition.When the HOLD LEDflashes, the unit is in aWAITFOR step or hasexceeded the guaranteedsoak deviation..ENTER KeyEnters selected (flashing)data into the microprocessormemory.
