Distress migrati<strong>on</strong> is another vulnerable factor mak<strong>in</strong>g theresp<strong>on</strong>dents take part <strong>in</strong> NREGS work <strong>in</strong> Gaya and Mahaboobnagar districts.Lack <strong>of</strong> skills to do other works also force the community towards MGNREGSand such cases are reportedly high <strong>in</strong> Gaya district (61.3 per cent) followedby Thrissur district (54 per cent) and Mahaboobnagar district (49 per cent).Other factors listed out are poverty, unemployment, debts, b<strong>on</strong>ded labour,health problems <strong>of</strong> other members <strong>in</strong> the family etc. Details are presented<strong>in</strong> Table 23. It is clear from this Table, that sample resp<strong>on</strong>dents <strong>of</strong>Mahaboobnagar and Gaya (drought-pr<strong>on</strong>e areas) are more vulnerable toseveral factors compared to Thrissur and South 24 Paraganas. Prom<strong>in</strong>entam<strong>on</strong>g them are <strong>in</strong>sufficient work <strong>in</strong> agriculture, lack <strong>of</strong> c<strong>on</strong>t<strong>in</strong>uous work,lack <strong>of</strong> skills and drought c<strong>on</strong>diti<strong>on</strong>s.
