5. Start the vFabric Hyperic Agent for the first time.a. Make sure that the vFabric Hyperic Server is running.b. Follow the instructions that apply to your environment:o On Unix-Like platforms, to start the vFabric Hyperic Agent as a daemon:• Open a command shell.• Change directory to AgentHome/bin, and enter:hq-agent.sh starto On Windows platforms, to set up the vFabric Hyperic Agent to run as a serviceand start the service:a. Open a terminal window.b. Change directory to ServerHome\bin and enter:hq-agent.bat installhq-agent.bat starto If you configured all required agent properties in agent.properties, the agentwill start up and discover the resources on the platform. Otherwise, the agent willprompt for required properties that have not been defined. For instructions on theconfiguration prompts, see Set Up Agent Interactively.SSL Warnings?By default, if the agent does not trust the certificate presented by the server, the agentissues this warning:The authenticity of host 'ServerHost' can't be established. Are you sure youwant to continue connecting? [default=no]:If this warning is issued, for strongest security, press Return to terminate the agentconfiguration process. Before restarting the agent configuration process, obtain an SSLcertificate for the agent, and one for the server, both signed by the same trusted CA. Thenfollow the instructions in Configure SSL Options. If you enter "yes" to continue the agentconfiguration process, the agent displays the following warning, prompting you to confirmyour choice before it imports the certificate that the server presented presented:The server to agent communication channel is using a self-signed certificate andcould not be verifiedAre you sure you want to continue connecting? [default=no]: yes26
6.
