Two-Step Migration ProcedureIn this procedure "two-step" refers the fact that export and import processes are separate steps.. Before you start the process, verify that you have installed <strong>vFabric</strong> 5.7 and vPostgreSQLThe two-step upgrade process consists of these steps:1. Export Data from <strong>vFabric</strong> <strong>Hyperic</strong> 4.x2. Import Data to <strong>vFabric</strong> <strong>Hyperic</strong> 5.71. Export Existing Database and Server Configurationa. Shut down the 4.6 (or later) <strong>vFabric</strong> <strong>Hyperic</strong> Server.Note that if the server is running when you execute the migration script, the migrationprocess will stop the <strong>vFabric</strong> <strong>Hyperic</strong> Server.b. Copy the migration package, hq-migration-5.7.zip from the <strong>vFabric</strong> <strong>Hyperic</strong>5.7 installer to the 4.x <strong>vFabric</strong> <strong>Hyperic</strong> Server host.The package is located in the installer/bin directory of the 5.7 installer homedirectory.c. On the <strong>vFabric</strong> <strong>Hyperic</strong> 4.x host, unpack hq-migration-5.7.zip.The expanded package has this directory structure:hq-migration-5.7logslibdatabinThe root of the unpacked migration package directory structure, hqmigration-5.7in the directory tree above, is referred to henceforth asMigrationHome.82
