Beforeperforming the steps on this page, see <strong>vFabric</strong> <strong>Hyperic</strong> Upgrade Processes for informationabout upgrade options and other steps in the upgrade process.If you want to configure your 5.7 agents for a user-managed keystore, see the informationin the Upgrade Server and Agent <strong>with</strong> User-Managed Keystores section of <strong>vFabric</strong> <strong>Hyperic</strong>Upgrade Processes.Agent Upgrade MethodsTo upgrade a <strong>vFabric</strong> <strong>Hyperic</strong> 4.x Agent to 5.7 you can either: Install just the 5.7 agent bundle, by pushing it from your upgraded <strong>vFabric</strong> <strong>Hyperic</strong> 5.7Server to each agent (in <strong>vFabric</strong> <strong>Hyperic</strong> only) as described in Push Agent Bundle fromthe <strong>vFabric</strong> <strong>Hyperic</strong> Server, or by manually copying the bundle to each agent asdescribed in Upgrade Agent Bundle Manually. If desired, you can first create your ownagent bundle, as described in Create a Custom Agent Upgrade Bundle. Install complete 5.7 agent package, as described in Upgrade Agent Using a Full AgentPackage.Push Agent Bundle from the <strong>vFabric</strong> <strong>Hyperic</strong> ServerYou can update one or more <strong>vFabric</strong> <strong>Hyperic</strong> Agents by pushing the new bundle to it from the<strong>vFabric</strong> <strong>Hyperic</strong> Server, using the <strong>vFabric</strong> <strong>Hyperic</strong> user interface. The bundle must reside in theServerHome/hq-engine/hq-server/webapps/ROOT/WEB-INF/hq-agent-bundlesdirectory.The agent upgrade command is available on the Views tab for an <strong>vFabric</strong> <strong>Hyperic</strong> Agent (or agroup of agents). For more information see Start, Stop, and Other Agent Operations in <strong>vFabric</strong><strong>Hyperic</strong> Configuration.Note: When you update an agent bundle, the configuration settings in the agent'sAgentHome/conf/agent.properties file are not changed. However, the first time you startan agent that you have updated from 4.5 or earlier, passwords specified in the file will beencrypted.92
