Stop PostgreSQLStop PostgreSQL with the following command:$PGHOME/bin/pg_ctl stop -m fastfast is one of several shutdown modes supported by PostgreSQL. For more information, see http://www.PostgreSQL.org/docs/9.1/static/app-pg-ctl.html.Run vFabric Hyperic InstallerAbout this section...This section has instructions for performing a new installation of vFabric Hypericcomponents using the vFabric Hyperic installer. Before running the installer, see vFabricHyperic Installation and Startup Process for information about where installation fits in theimplementation process. For production environments, there are several steps to performbefore installing the vFabric Hyperic Server and vFabric Hyperic Agent, including databasesetup and SSL configuration. If you wish to upgrade an existing vFabric Hyperic deployment, please see Migrate v4vFabric Hyperic Server and Database to v5 and Upgrade vFabric Hyperic Agent.Obtain vFabric Hyperic InstallerIf you have not done so already, download the vFabric Hyperic installer. See Select andDownload an Installer.About the Setup ScriptThe setup script — setup.bat for Windows, setup.sh for Unix-like environments — is in thevFabric Hyperic installation package. You can use the setup script to install the vFabric HypericServer, the vFabric Hyperic Agent, or both. When you run the setup script, you can supply a qualifier that sets the installation mode.none — Run the setup script with no qualifier to perform a quick install. Selectedcomponents will be installed with default values for most configuration options. If youinstall the vFabric Hyperic Server, it will be configured to use its built-in vPostgreSQLdatabase. A quick install is useful when you evaluate vFabric Hyperic.-full — In "full" mode, the installer dialog will prompt for all setup configurationoptions. Use this option if you plan to use an external database or to configure thevFabric Hyperic Server to use an SSL keystore that you manage yourself, rather than avFabric Hyperic-generated keystore. For best security and best "configurability", run theinstaller in "full" mode.46
