Conceptual view of GeorgiaGwinnett College at buildout.Historic Building in the Depot area. The corridor extends to the existing commercial area aroundthe Depot and terminates at Born Street. The college andthe Depot area are logical termini for the corridor. Thiscorridor will include some of the uses that Lawrencevillebelieves will be impacted by the future development alongthe corridor and will eventually transition from the existingland uses as the transportation systems are improved in thecorridors and as property values rise. The upper end of theDowntown Overlay District area just touches the Depotarea, so a linkage is formed that will allow both areas toimprove and help establish the Depot area as anentertainment district and destination.Desired Development Patterns• Development projects that compliment college life.• Create a strong physical connect between downtownand the college campus.• Redevelopment of existing single-family and multi-familyneighborhoods into high-quality off-campus housing forcollege students, faculty and staff.• Expansion of college campus on the south side of SR316for future athletic events.• Encourage a variety of transit and transportation modesfrom campus to downtown and surrounding commercialdistricts.City of Lawrenceville 2 - 9Comprehensive Plan 2030Adopted VersionCommunity Agenda 6 October 2008
