• Increase the amount, quality, connectivity andaccessibility <strong>of</strong> greenspace. The <strong>City</strong> shouldcoordinate greenspace locations and connectionswith surrounding jurisdictions where possible.• Provide strategies to preserve and enhance historicresources. Increase the overall acreage <strong>of</strong> protected greenspace. Preserve the <strong>City</strong>’s tree canopy through increasedprotection measures. Coordinate underground water supply protectionmeasures with Gwinnett County and theMetropolitan North Georgia WatershedManagement District (MNGWMD). Continue to educate citizens, local <strong>of</strong>ficials, anddevelopers about the value <strong>of</strong> natural resourcesand the importance <strong>of</strong> protective measures. Improve pedestrian access to promote a walkablecommunity.Promote the arts, cultural affairs and broadrangecommunity programs. Promote the development <strong>of</strong> the area around theDepot on Clayton Street as an arts andentertainment destination, tied in with thedevelopment <strong>of</strong> the College Corridor. Continue to support the Aurora Theater, localartists and local performances.Improve existing park and recreational facilities andplan for future expansions.
