The City shouldcoordinate greenspace locations and connectionswith surrounding jurisdictions where possible.• Provide strategies to preserve and enhance historicresources. Increase the overall acreage of protected greenspace. Preserve the City’s tree canopy through increasedprotection measures. Coordinate underground water supply protectionmeasures with Gwinnett County and theMetropolitan North Georgia WatershedManagement District (MNGWMD). Continue to educate citizens, local officials, anddevelopers about the value of natural resourcesand the importance of protective measures. Improve pedestrian access to promote a walkablecommunity.Promote the arts, cultural affairs and broadrangecommunity programs. Promote the development of the area around theDepot on Clayton Street as an arts andentertainment destination, tied in with thedevelopment of the College Corridor. Continue to support the Aurora Theater, localartists and local performances.Improve existing park and recreational facilities andplan for future expansions.
