Chapter 7 - Feature Creation7.8.2 Variable Radius FilletsVariable radius fillets create a rounded face of variable radius on an edge. You specify a start radiusand end radius and a smooth transition is made between the two along the selected edge(s).‣ To create a variable radius fillet:1. Select the Fillet tool from the Part Modeling toolbar; or from the Feature menu selectFillet; or right-click and select Add Fillet from the pop-up menu.2. Select Variable Radius as the Fillet Type.3. Select the edge(s) or face(s) to be rounded. Selecting a face will subsequently select all theedges associated with that face.4. Unselect the Tangent Propagate option if necessary. The Tangent Propagate option createsa fillet on the selected edge as well as any other edges that form a path in which a tangentcondition can be resolved.5. Specify the start Radius in the first radius field.6. Specify the end Radius in the second radius field.7. Click OK to create the fillet.171
