Chapter 19 - Alibre Motion• The Motion Explorer: similar to the Design Explorer, allows you to view and interact with allthe Parts, Constraints, Physical Elements (Motors, Springs, Dampers and Motions) andSettings that make up a Simulation• The Playback Deck: allows you to start the generation of a simulation and control playbackof the animation19.3.1 The Main Alibre Motion MenuThe Motion main menu can be accessed in an Assembly workspace when Motion is installed andenabled.Motion ExplorerThis activates Alibre Motion for the Assembly you are working on. When this is selected, the MotionExplorer is shown, where you can add and change any physical elements that you wish to use inyour simulation.Enable Simulation ModeWhen you have added all of the desired elements, this puts the Assembly workspace into Simulation/ Playback mode. In this state, all the constraints in the Assembly are suppressed, and anyAnchored bodies are freed. The Simulator takes control of the placement of all moving parts andsub-assemblies, in order to animate them as Simulation frames are generated.496
Chapter 19 - Alibre MotionRegenerate SimulationWhen you have made changes to your Assembly, use this to update the Simulator. You may beprompted to do this occasionally if you have made a change that renders the Simulator unable toanimate the model.Clear SimulationThis completely resets the Assembly design to create a blank simulation.Note: All changes you have made to the Simulation set-up, physical elements added, and feedbackelements you have defined, will be lost.Show Status WindowThe Status window shows any Warnings and Simulator messages generated when checking thesimulation model, or generating a simulation. If you have closed the window, it can be re-opened byselecting this item.SettingsThis item takes you to the Settings dialog, where you can specify the parameters that determine howthe Simulation should be generated and played back. From here you can also specify how Tracesappear, and other options.19.3.2 Alibre Motion ExplorerMuch like the Design Explorer, the Motion Explorer shows all the items which make-up a Simulationset-up.
