For future research, it is important to understand the<br />

foundations <strong>of</strong> political pressures around <strong>of</strong>fshore PE<br />

domiciliation in Mauritius. We suggest a close investigation<br />

<strong>of</strong> (a) the current perception <strong>of</strong> Mauritius among institutional<br />

investors and policymakers with respect to financial<br />

transparency and tax practices and (b) the rationales behind<br />

major criticisms.<br />
