The knowledge of how to keep
children safe, how children 0-5
years grow and develop, why play is
important, how a healthy diet helps
a child to thrive. By attending a short
placement learners will be able to link
their learning to life in an early years
setting and are guided to help them
prepare for level two.

with a weekly work placement where
you will learn how to read stories
to children, set up a play area, help
children with personal care routines
and keep children safe.
You will learn how children grow and
develop, why we keep children safe,
how we can encourage healthy eating
and why children play.

Supporting Teaching and
Learning in Schools (QCF)
16+ | L2 | FT | 1YR
The course will enable the learner
to develop the knowledge and
skills needed when supporting
teaching and learning in the school
environment. It is suitable for learners
working in roles that support pupils’
learning including teaching assistants,
learning support assistants and
special needs assistants. It is made
up of mandatory and optional units
which are based on developing
knowledge and skills.
CACHE Diploma in
Supporting Teaching
and Learning in Schools
16+ | L3 | FT | 1YR
You will need to be working or
volunteering as a teaching assistant
in a school to join this course. With
this qualification, you will be able to
move to a higher level qualification
and it may help towards promotion
in your employment. You could
also work as a qualified classroom
assistant, supporting the teacher and
helping children in a primary school.
