with a weekly work placement where<br />
you will learn how to read stories<br />
to children, set up a play area, help<br />
children with personal care routines<br />
and keep children safe.<br />

develop, why we keep children safe,<br />
how we can encourage healthy eating<br />
and why children play.<br />

The course will enable the learner<br />
to develop the knowledge and<br />
skills needed when supporting<br />
teaching and learning in the school<br />
environment. It is suitable for learners<br />
working in roles that support pupils’<br />
learning including teaching assistants,<br />
learning support assistants and<br />
special needs assistants. It is made<br />
up of mandatory and optional units<br />
which are based on developing<br />
knowledge and skills.<br />

Supporting Teaching<br />
and Learning in Schools<br />
16+ | L3 | FT | 1YR<br />
You will need to be working or<br />
volunteering as a teaching assistant<br />
in a school to join this course. With<br />
this qualification, you will be able to<br />
move to a higher level qualification<br />
and it may help towards promotion<br />
in your employment. You could<br />
also work as a qualified classroom<br />
assistant, supporting the teacher and<br />
helping children in a primary school.<br />
