ESOL<br />

You can join a 16—18 Study Programme at Acton, Hammersmith and<br />

Southall Colleges. The programme is full-time, with lessons 3 days<br />

a week, and access to the Learning Centre, Gym and clubs the rest<br />

of the week. The course focuses on English Speaking & Listening,<br />

Reading, Writing, Maths up to GCSE, and other subjects such as IT,<br />

Science, Tutorial and Enrichment. There are workshops and trips<br />

throughout the year to make the learning rich and interesting. You<br />

will have a dedicated tutor who will guide you and help you achieve<br />

your goals. At Entry 3, the programme includes tasters in a range of<br />

different subjects to help you progress onto other <strong>college</strong> courses<br />

and into the workplace.<br />

LEVELS<br />

We have programmes suitable for all levels, from Pre-Entry to<br />

Level 2:<br />

From Pre-Entry to Level 2, learners build their confidence in<br />

communicating in English and Maths, and get an introduction to<br />

education, work and life in the UK.<br />

At Entry 3, the course includes tasters, in areas including:<br />

Business, Service Industries, Multi-skills and Community Services,<br />

to supplement the English and Maths learning. These tasters will<br />

help learners decide which area they would like to specialise in the<br />

following year, and will provide personal, social and employability<br />

skills and experiences which will enrich students' CVs.<br />

At Level 1/ Level 2, learners can choose an academic route, focusing<br />

on developing their Pre-GCSE academic speaking, listening, reading<br />

and writing skills, and together with Maths, Science and IT, will help<br />

them progress onto GCSE/A-level or Pre-Accessworkplace.<br />

Entry 3<br />

Progression onto Level 1 courses<br />

in areas such as Business, IT,<br />

Engineering, Plumbing, Travel<br />

& Tourism, Public Services, and<br />

other subjects to then lead to<br />

Level 1/Level 2<br />

Progression onto GCSE/A-level<br />

programmes or Pre-Access/Access,<br />

to prepare for University.<br />
